As we age, eye problems such as presbyopia occur naturally.
Some eye problems will also emerge because of age, such as glaucoma, cataract, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Not every elderly person will suffer from the above eye diseases, but those with family history of eye disease, smoking habit, drinking habit, or patients with high blood pressure and heart disease are all at high risk.
Therefore, middle-aged people, especially those over 55, should have regular eye examinations every year or every two years, so that they can be treated at the early stage of diseases.
