Pediatric Cardiology Services

Heart health is an important factor for the healthy growth of infants, children and adolescents. Once heart disease or damage occurs, it will have a great impact on the development of children. Pediatric heart disease is mainly classified as congenital and acquired. Most of the heart problems in childhood are congenital. For every 1000 newborn babies, about 6-8 suffer from congenital heart disease. Kawasaki disease is the most common acquired heart disease in Hong Kong, followed by myocarditis.
